After all was said and done with work we made the journey westward the rest of the way to San Jose, California.

A beautiful ride with much scenery to be seen.  Instead of just coming north on Interstate 35 out of Dallas we took the more scenic route westward on 380 through all the little towns in west Texas and New Mexico.  Stayed in

Our constant companion on these travels was Suzy.  She started out as my mascot from many years ago as a rider on my motorcycles.  She has kept me out of trouble more times than I can remember.  The number of miles on my girl here are very very many.

She's watching us go through the western desert here in New Mexico in the picture you see.

The only part of the journey that was really rough was driving late into the night through some of the thickest fog you have ever seen in New Mexico.  I guess the aliens around Roswell did not want us to see them.

Stayed in Roswell that first night out of Dallas.  Continued the next day on the way to one of the longest days driving I had done in many years.  After probably 16 hours of driving the rig west we ended up giving up at Barstow, Ca.  Saw some fun things over the day. Snow in the mountains of New Mexico while riding through the range where Billy the Kid once road.

Many pictures shown in other places in the web site.

We traveled the last day from Barstow to San Jose over the high desert and passes.  Lots of things to see.  Windmills and airplanes and old junk just sitting by the side of the road.

Arrival day was Saturday late in the evening.  My leased corporate apartment was still in good standing so we crashed there knowing that Sunday was move in day for our new apartment across the complex.

Everything following the plan so far.  Still no major hickups.

On to the next page!
